How To Have Two Honeymoons In One

Travelling from the UK to any exotic destination for your honeymoon often means a lengthy flight. None of us really want to sacrifice our romantic island getaway just because the flight is too long, but it’s certainly a drawback. Recently I discovered that it’s a popular practice to include day-long stopovers in between lengthy flights. You can visit two places on your honeymoon instead of one and there is just no disadvantage to that. If you’re flying from the UK to Asia or Australia, you may find yourself heading over the United States. Many of the airports at which you’ll change planes are in fantastic cities, so why not spend a day exploring rather than sitting in the airport waiting for the next flight? Here are four great US cities where you’re most likely to have a layover – and most likely to enjoy yourself a little extra on your honeymoon.
New York City is famous the world over for its bustling lifestyle, fantastic culture, and media presence. It also has a fascinating history and a fair number of landmarks; you can visit the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, or Times Square and there are many tours through the city. You may also choose to have your travel company set up a day for you; for example, you might choose to view Manhattan from the decks of a restored 1929 sailboat in the spring and summer. That sounds romantic enough for a honeymoon to me.
If you’ve ever wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, a stopover in Las Vegas is in the perfect location. At the airport, you can transfer onto a helicopter and land at this famous landmark in style, enjoying a romantic champagne picnic while there. Vegas has numerous other charms and is a great place for a break from lengthy travel, especially if you have money to burn in the city’s well-known (and often filmed) casinos.
Avid film buffs may insist on stopping over in Los Angeles, the portal to all things Hollywood. You can find your favourite performer’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame or see the famous sign for yourself. Or perhaps you’d like to have a meal in one of LA’s culinary hotspots. You never know when you might run into one of your favourite celebrities and what a honeymoon memory that would make. If the bustle of the city isn’t really for you, you might prefer a helicopter ride over Hollywood, seeing all the landmarks from above without the hassle of other tourists.
San Francisco is another exciting stopover destination in California and a regular honeymoon destination for many couples. My parents chose it, in fact. Undoubtedly you’ll have seen the Golden Gate Bridge in films and on TV without even realizing what it was! The city has a varied liberal culture, with plenty of museums and landmarks for a speedy day out. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even explore the nearby Alcatraz prison and see the cells where famous criminals like Al Capone were held. All of San Francisco’s scenery is best displayed in a seaplane flight, generally offered by travel agencies.
All in all, choosing a stopover destination can take the pain out of a lengthy set of flights and can give you a fantastic start – or end – to your honeymoon.

If you are looking for a diverse and cultural holiday to get away from the freezing winds of the UK this Spring, then Morocco should be your destination of choice.
This contrastive country has much to offer all tastes, from the sandy dunes of the Sahara desert which quickly becomes the Atlas mountains; capped with a dusting of pure white snow; and rolls onto the green heartland. Touching both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea, Morocco has a thrilling pull which is only present where the spheres of Africa and Europe meet. Make sure you have your Travel Insurance for your trip before you Travel. Cheap Insurance can be obtained in the UK quite easily, and will protect you against any unpleasant travel related incidents while away.
Marrakesh is the up and coming capital; the central square peaking at twilight when the rhythmic sound of drums, call to prayer from the minarets and bustle of the street markets will enthral you.
Visit Le Comptoir for funky tunes nestled in a gorgeous setting. They offer food and drinks, and have a feature sparkly staircase. If you want to be among the glitz and glamour of the Moroccan up and coming, then this is the place to be. Pacha Marrakesh is well worth a visit if you value your nightlife; the counterpart of Pacha in London, it offers hectic tunes until late in the night.
Casablanca is a giant metropolitan city, combining a perfect blend of old and new. People in Morocco are less strict about Islam then their neighbouring countries, and for this reason, Casablanca offers a very unique feel.
Fez, the old capital, is one of the great, imperial, Islamic cities. Its the largest and oldest in the country, and offers a central medina with walled in city. The minaret is a great example of exquisite architecture, and is most beautiful at night.
Travel to Zagora, and from here trek out a few hours into the Sahara desert. A gorgeous experience; you can set up your tents and camp under the stars, being able to view the stunningly clear sky. This is an opportunity not to miss, and if you can do it, do.
Morocco offers 10,000 years of history, giving the discerning traveller a sense of sumptuous luxury, and aesthetic simplicity. Its vibrancy and diversity make it an unparalleled country that must top your list of places to visit in your lifetime.

Are you wanting to avoid the glittery and commercialized tourist traps in favor of experiencing the genuine life of the local cultures?
If you crave adventure and authenticity, then deviate from the beaten path and prepare to explore the true heart and soul of a society’s history and heritage. You can make an ordinary vacation extraordinary by backpacking through the countryside, fishing in pristine water, biking in uncharted areas, or experiencing creative modes of transportation. Witness breathtaking scenery, catch a glimpse of unique wildlife in its natural habitat, and connect with the true lifestyle of the native people.
If you want to see real history, experience real life, and observe real culture, then it is time to plan a unique overseas adventure travel vacation. A few examples are listed below:
Ethiopia represents one of the oldest civilizations on earth and is a wonderful myriad of exotic wildlife, archaeological wonders, ancient architecture, and untouched scenery. The Omo River Valley of Southern Ethiopia is home to a cultural mosaic of African tribes that have been unaffected by modernization; and although getting there is difficult, the trip is definitely worth the effort. It is a land rich in tradition and overflowing with beauty. Whether you want to catch a glimpse of the famous rockhewn churches of Lalibela, study the unique agriculture, admire the fascinating beehive shaped huts, or pump up the excitement crossing rivers with an overland truck, the Omo Valley will offer a remarkable experience that will thrill and captivate the most ardent adventurer.
Although it is not on the list of most popular vacation destinations, a motorbike tour of Battambang, Cambodia will not disappoint the adventure seeker. It is a destination abundant in traditional architecture, ancient temples, and fascinating wats and pagodas. Its friendly people, coupled with the beautiful scenery provided by rice fields and plantations makes Battambang one of the most stunning places in the world. A trip to rural Russia will allow you to take a step back in time and experience adventure in its most basic form. With no running water, wood-burning heat, and only the simplest of facilities, the rural Russian communities will allow you to experience this country’s incomparable history and interact with the people that help build its amazing heritage. Only reachable by boat or plane, this area can boast one of the most culturally diverse populations in the world.
