The Seychelles has come out on top of journalist Andrea Ege’s list of “The Celebs’ Top Ten Honeymoon Destinations“.

The Indian Ocean archipelago has always been a favourite spot for luxury weddings abroad but it seems that the nation is now emerging as a top destination for celebrity honeymoons.

It is not just the breathtaking natural scenery that attracts celebrities to book Seychelles honeymoons; it is also the perfect place to escape the persistent paparazzi.

The Seychelles offer plenty of private beaches where pop stars, Hollywood actors, Royals and sporting stars can escape the prying eyes of photographers and enjoy a romantic break with their loved ones, whether it is for destination weddings or idyllic honeymoons.

Famous stars have visited the beautiful nation over the years including actress, Salma Hayek and her husband Francois Henri Pinault who celebrated at the North Island Hotel after their nuptials; Beatles’ singer Paul McCartney and his former wife Heather Mills who enjoyed a beautiful honeymoon in the Seychelles despite their marriage not lasting for very long; Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt who rented a small villa on Fregate island for their honeymoon; and not forgetting Prince William and Kate Middleton who famously escaped the media and headed to the picturesque Seychelles for a private honeymoon following their nuptials earlier this year.

Andrea’s “The Celebs’ Top Ten Honeymoon Destinations” list included Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean, the Maldives, Mexico, California, Bora Bora, Hawaii, Fiji, Barbados and the Bahamas.

The Seychelles is an island country located in the Indian Ocean; northeast of Madagascar and comprising a total of 115 beautiful islands. The destination boasts stunning landscapes comprising pristine white sand palm fringed beaches, turquoise crystal-clear ocean waters and sparkling lagoons, lush green forests and rolling green hills.

Couples getting married abroad in the Seychelles can relax in luxurious beachfront hotels and resorts and indulge in spa treatments, gourmet cuisine or refreshing cocktails by the pool.

The tranquil environment offers a fantastic place for unwinding after romantic Seychelles weddings, whether it’s on one of the secluded soft sand beaches that are dotted along the coastline of the islands, or beneath the surface of the sea where couples can scuba dive or snorkel and explore the magnificent colourful marine world of the Indian Ocean.

The collection of islands offers plenty of settings for romantic weddings abroad, from beach weddings at sunset, to ceremonies in lush tropical fragrant gardens.
