Top Honeymoon Destination at Soufriere on St Lucia

Sometimes you need to look away from the big resorts on St Lucia for your honeymoon destination, so check out La Haut Plantation
A top honeymoon destination on St Lucia is a hard one to call because there is a lot of competition especially in the Soufriere area with the romantic Pitons. It is well worth checking out La Haut Plantation which gets rave reviews from guests, and has a great deal going for it, not the least of which are the stunning views.
It has a reputation as a great place, with outstanding staff who look after you really well. They are the kind of people who don’t ever seem to be troubled by requests and can never do too much for you.
Incredibly it manages to accomplish with some flair being a really top honeymoon destination, with being a very nice family vacation resort. Saying that resort isn’t probably the right description, for a hotel that is in the middle of a working plantation perched on a hillside, so the description could be better as an ideal family holiday hotel.
Whatever you choose to call it, the fact that it is half way up a mountain means the setting is quite stunning, well away from tourists, hustle and bustle, and yet within easy reach of the town of Soufriere, the Pitons, beaches, and other things to do and see. You will however require a hire car for your holiday due to the isolated nature of the property although there are other options worth thinking about if you don’t intend to explore.
The first is the shuttle that runs to Anse Chastanet every day at 10am coming back up to La Haut Plantation at 4pm. The hotel has two pools but if this is a family holiday, children will want to go to the beach. Anse Chastanet is a great beach, and well worth bringing your own snorkelling stuff. You’ll want to supply your own lunch because the beachside restaurants are expensive. There are good grocery shops in Soufriere so the best suggestion is to buy food for lunch if you don’t want extra expense. It is also great to mingle with the local people an opportunity denied to most people on a package holiday.
You don’t want to be walking anywhere outside the hotel, apart from Soufriere. Being up a steep hill, it’s no fun at all.
You can get a taxi through La Haut Plantation, he seems to be their tame personal taxi. If you want to go exploring, and you don’t want to hire a car, then you’ll find him great fun, and not difficult to come to a price if you want him for a full day.
La Haut Plantation is a lovely place altogether. If you are looking for peace and quiet so you can just relax, then it is perfect. It is an unrecognised but nevertheless top honeymoon destination for this reason. You will also see families here, although in terms of it being a family holiday hotel, it would really be for families with smaller children, because teenagers could well get bored in such a small place. Its position is really unsurpassed, and worth it for the views alone, never mind the excellent rooms, service, and food.
Kelly Wilson runs St Lucia Vacation Spots as well as being a contributor on occasions to Worldwide Vacation Spots and he thinks it would be worth your while to check out Caribbean Vacation Spots especially any information you can find about St Lucia, the best of the Caribbean Islands

Selecting the Right Honeymoon Destinations

A honeymoon is the ideal way to start the life together and is the time for the newly weds to be alone together and just be together. Honeymoon is the time to have fun, to relax and really to enjoy each other’s company and so, the destination for the honeymoon has to be chosen by both, so that it is an enjoyable place for both of them. Therefore, the couple should sit down and decide what they would like from a honeymoon and plan the destination accordingly.
Beach is an obvious choice for most of the couples and the best value of the honeymoon can be got through a cruise. The cruise would take the couple to different destinations and can last either for a few hours or for a few weeks. The advantage of a cruise is that there is no need to pack and unpack things and the couple can stay in one room that moves to different locations. With cruises, there are many honeymoon destinations to go, including Hawaii and Tahiti.
Choosing the honeymoon destination depends upon various factors like whether the couple want to enjoy hiking and great outdoors, and if so, the time of year and weather conditions have to be taken into consideration. It should be verified whether there are hotels or resorts close by and the amenities therein. Of course, the cost also has to be considered.
Although there is a multitude of honeymoon destinations, there are places that are both very close to the place where the couple live in and far off too. In Asia, Indonesia and Bali have the most popular honeymoon destinations. There are many luxurious resorts and exotic nature and beaches that can be enjoyed immensely during a honeymoon. People, who can afford a larger budget, can pay a visit to Japan or Singapore which are shopping paradises.
In Europe, the unparallel choice of honeymoon goers is France, which is rightly known as the city of love. A trip to the top of Eiffel tower along with the partner, while watching the sunset is worth the trip. Italy is a good honeymoon destination and is preferred by many for its food alone. The Caribbean islands are known for their world’s best beaches which do have some affordable islands including Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Dominican Republic.
Couples who prefer to be a little adventurous can choose to visit Colorado which is known for winter sports and the couple can partake in skiing, ice skating and other outdoor activities. Las Vegas is famous for glamour and night life.
Honeymoon destinations are in abundance that are waiting to make the trip an enjoyable and exotic experience whose memories will be lingering in the minds of the couple for a lifetime, to increase the bondage between them.

Mae Phim (Thailand) : An Unforgettable Destination

Of course, the beaches in Mae Phim are fantastic. White sand and crystal blue water await you at more than one of its beaches. Though such beaches are not uncommon in Thailand, what makes the ones in Mae Phim different is the fact that they still remain totally unspoiled. They still retain their natural charm and beauty, and have not been excessively filled with deck-chairs, or over-run with hawkers. Mae offers several great beaches for you to choose from. There is no need to spend all of your vacation lying on the same beach – you could go to a different one each day. By walking just 10 or so minutes from central Mae Phim, you can find yourself a nice, practically deserted, stretch of beach that you can have all to yourself.
In terms of accommodation, there is a great range available. Simple guest-house, luxurious hotels, and everything in between can be chosen from. The most popular option though is a vacation rental home, whereby someone who owns a property in Mae Phim rents it out to tourists when they are not living in it themselves. There are some truly fantastic homes available to rent – private swimming pools, several bedrooms, widescreen TVs, etc. On arrival, and having unpacked your bags, you should take a stroll around the town center. Charming and authentic, but pleasingly modern, are the words that best sum it up. All modern amenities are available there, but they come with a Thai twist rather than being bland and boring.
The food is wonderful, the bars are great for sipping cocktails in as the sun comes down, and the shops are perfect for picking up unique souvenirs for your friends back home. Having been there for a day, you will feel completely relaxed and comfortable. By the time it comes to go home, you may well be tempted to buy your own vacation home in Mae Phim!

Finding A Resort In Antigua
April 19, 2010 by admin
If you ask people where their dream holiday would be, what is the most frequent response that you think you will get? Well everybody I seem to ask give me the same rough answer, being the Caribbean. As soon as they say this I completely agree with them even if they have never been and have just seen pictures. I was exactly like this before I went on a holiday there and now I have I must say, I completely agree still and cant wait to go back.
But I would have to say that the resort in Antigua where I stayed was by far the best I have ever seen and would not hesitate going back there at all. In fact I am thinking about booking my next holiday there already because I loved it so much.
I went to quite a small resort in Antigua but the scenery and looks and well just about everything was absolutely perfect! I couldn’t have asked much more from a resort in Antigua. I do not even want to go and look at other islands in the Caribbean region at the moment I want to explore Antigua and let me tell you why.
Antigua has 365 beaches around the island even though it is only 14 miles long and 11 miles wide, so there is constantly somewhere to go exploring. You can definitely see nowhere near everything you will ant to in just one week so you may want to take a bit longer out there. Even if you stay out there longer and do nearly everything you can you are still going to want to stay in a resort in Antigua for even longer. When I went I really did not want to leave at all.
The weather is very, very nice all year round so you will be able to relax in a resort in Antigua in the warm sun with nice warm breezes and steady winds all year round. Around the island is nearly unbroken coral reef which is absolutely amazing for snorkelling and diving which you will want to do time and time again as it gets better every time if that is even possible.
One of the days you are in your resort in Antigua you may want to get a rental car so that you are able to travel around and explore the amazing island on your own and find places that many tourists do not go to. If you want to do this it is not very expensive and is the best way to get about the island. All you need to be able to do this is either an international drivers license or a license from the country you reside from. As well you are going to need a permit to drive in Antigua which most of the rental companies can help you get and only costs around $20. The best bit if you are British is that in Antigua they drive on the left side of te road so it is just like home.

Surf’s Always Up On Lanzarote
December 15, 2009 by admin
The Beach Boys sang about waxing down their surfboards and waiting for June, well there’s no need to wait for June on Lanzarote as the surfing season continues all year round. Even though the main surf beaches may be relatively free of crowds at the moment, there are still a few committed surfers who go out every day. However, plenty of surf fans will be planning their surf holidays for next summer and booking their flights to this popular island in the Atlantic.
Several of the surf schools on the island have been in business for over 10 years now and have well established bases, coaching surfers from all over Europe throughout the year. Famara is the best known spot on Lanzarote for surfing, for various reasons. It’s location is key, being in the perfect spot to receive those ideal Atlantic swells that roll in continuously, sometimes quite aggressively, sometimes more gently for beginners. Famara also has great sand, to keep the spectators happy and, being quite remote from the typical tourist beaches, there’s no problem with sun seekers getting in the way. An added benefit is the area’s beauty, with no lack of wonderful scenery to provide a perfect backdrop to a day’s surfing the waves.
Only rarely will surfers experience the huge waves that non-surfers conjure up in their minds when they think about the typical Hawaiian surfers shown in advertisements and film scenes, but for most of the surfers that visit Lanzarote, such big rollers would only mean most people having to sit out the day on the beach, watching just a handful of professional?level superstars getting their kicks. No, for majority of people the temperate waves of Lanzarote’s surf beaches are plenty big enough. In addition to the favoured beach at Famara, the tiny island of La Graciosa, which lies off the north west coast of Lanzarote, provides an alternative surf spot just south of the beach at Playa de las Conchas. South of Famara is another area around the La Santa Sports Club, with a choice of 4 locations, but only recommended for more experienced surfers due to the speed of the waves and the rocky sea bed.
Some final choices on the southern end of Lanzarote’s western coast are El Golfo and Janubio beach, both suitable for surfers of intermediate ability. Lanzarote has also gained a great reputation as one of the best competition locations in Europe and regularly hosts the European legs of the world’s top international surfing competitions. In early November 2009 the Santa Pro surf competition was held at Famara beach, although organisers were forced to shift beaches south to la Santa for a couple of days due to the conditions. Almost one hundred competitors competed for the prizes and huge twelve foot waves provided exciting conditions. Australian professional Drew Courtney defeated Brazilian Bernardo Miranda in the final.
Earlier in the year, during July, Spain held its national kitesurfing championships in Lanzarote at Playa de Famara, when 84 competitors visited the island to compete for the national titles. Top level windsurfing also came to Lanzarote during July when the PWA championship event was held at the Playa Las Cucharas in Costa Teguise. In 2010, there will be more professional surfing in the Canary Islands when the ASP Junior Surf Tour comes to Realejos in Tenerife during September.
For those new to surfing, who are not sure where to start, then the easier version of wave boarding or “boogie” boarding is the perfect option, even for young children and Lanzarote’s beaches are the perfect place to. With some cheap equipment and a little instruction, complete beginners can be out in the waves having fun within a few minutes. You just need a board and some optional flippers and you’ll be away. Unlike the UK, you won’t even need a wetsuit during the summer months. Its probably best to start with a session or two at one of the many surf schools, if only to learn about beach etiquette (how to avoid upsetting everyone else out there) and to understand the safety aspects of rip tides and danger areas. Apart from than that it’s a great surf sport for young and old.
Consider taking a cheap flight to Lanzarote and catching some waves while the rest of Europe battles the winter chills. This report highlights why many people now consider Lanazarote one of the best surf locations in Europe. Weddings can be expensive, and a honeymoon on a budget is often a necessity. A bridal couple could feel sorry for themselves, or they could accept the challenge of finding a great getaway for a reasonable price. There are endless possibilities for a honeymoon on a budget with a little imagination. First of all, a honeymoon on a budget could be a package deal for two. Many of the cruise ship lines have some great package deals to fantastic places. These trips could be for a couple of days or a couple of weeks depending on the budget. The cruise ships have trips down the coast of Mexico for those closer to the West Coast, and some great trips to the Caribbean for those closer to the East Coast.
There are also some interesting possibilities for those who have a home or apartment ready to occupy. There are some great home exchange programs. These programs help people make arrangements to exchange accommodations. Since the accommodations are often the most substantial expense of any trip, a home exchange can provide a fantastic honeymoon on a budget. There are people looking to exchange homes in Europe for similar accommodations in the United States. A honeymoon couple could trade their home for one in London, Paris or Berlin.
Couples who love the great outdoors could have a honeymoon on a budget by planning a camping trip. Life out in the wilderness could be the most romantic trip possible. Many of the national parks have great camping facilities that would provide magnificent settings for those ready to get away from the pressures of every day life. The parks also have some accommodations that offer shelter for those who like nature but not camping. Europe also has some great camping facilities so a couple could get to Europe and still have a honeymoon on a budget.
A honeymoon on a budget might mean just staying closer to home. Disneyland and Disney World are favorite spots and couples should go to the amusement park closest to their home to save some money. There are beautiful beaches on both coasts and a trip to the closest coast could bring some great savings. Driving to a destination saves the money of airfare, and a well-planned road trip could be a great time. There are wonderful sights such as the Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls that are beautiful and inspiring. A road trip that includes such a destination could be the perfect honeymoon on a budget.
