If I were to ask you what your top 10 honeymoon destinations where would you find it easy or would you struggle to name your top 10? On a personal note I would find it very easy to pick my top 10 honeymoon destinations.

At number ten I have chosen Venice – Venice is renowned for its beauty, its architecture and its artworks, and can only be described with one word unique. Venice is built on stilts and boasts numerous canals, bridges and islands; it is easy to see why couples flock to Venice each year for a romantic honeymoon.

At number nine would be Paris – known as the city of love, this city has to be one of the most romantic cities in the world. See the city come to at night time and venture to the top of the Eiffel tower and witness the panoramic views of the city of love.

Next would be New York – described by many as the greatest city in the world and it’s a city that everyone is familiar with being setting for most romantic Hollywood movies. Why not take a trip to New York and fall in love just like in your favourite movies.

Thailand – the very name creates images of pristine beaches, amazing cuisine and beautiful scenery. It offers the discerning traveller a breathtaking array of accommodation to choose from, it is Thailand’s stunning beaches which draw in newlyweds for a romantic holiday honeymoon.

]]>

In sixth place would have to be New Zealand – historically not usually associated with romance – more rugby, New Zealand has changed so much and has a plethora of stunning beaches, breath taking scenery, luxury hotels and a diverse array of things to do.

Australia – is the destination that everyone aspires to visit and offers honeymooners an action packed honeymoon. One day you could be in the Australian rainforest followed by a trip into Sydney, climb the Sydney harbour bridge and take in the stunning panoramic views of the city.

At number four would be Fiji – it boasts stunning scenery and a plethora of luxury retreats. Fiji is located in the heart of the South Pacific and is made up of 330 magical islands. Honeymooners will be rewarded with lush landscapes, turquoise seas, waterfalls and white sandy beaches.

Now to the business end of the list – the top three, and at number three it’s Mauritius, it is home to some of the world’s most desirable hotels and resorts. Mauritius is perfect all year round with stunning beaches and underwater scenery.

Just narrowly being piped at the post to the number one spot is The Maldives, surrounded by crystal clear lagoons, the Maldives is the perfect destination to unwind after the stressful time leading to the big day, the beauty of the Maldives is you can do as much or as little as you want.

And at number one, is a place which has been voted the best place for a celebrity honeymoon, the Seychelles.  The Seychelles are like another world, with over 115 islands which are the most beautiful islands in the world. The Seychelles has such an idyllic diverse scenery being lined with palm trees and pristine white sandy beaches and lush green rainforests running down the island to the beautiful Azure ocean, making the Seychelles the perfect destination to unwind and relax.

This concludes my top 10 honeymoon destinations list and I hope you will agree with my top 10, if you have any destinations you think should be in the list, which aren’t then please let me know.

There are a number of great destinations for a romantic honeymoons, some of which may not at first glance appear obvious. However, let us start with the popular and work from there through a list of ten.

1) Paris. Renowned throughout the world, Paris is the capital of love. With its beautiful buildings, great attractions and romantic restaurants and hotels, every newlywed will find himself or herself pampered in this wonderful city. Seal your future with a kiss at the top of the Eiffel Tower or the Arc d’Triumphe.

2) The Caribbean. Bright blue oceans, golden beaches and sunshine and a friendly population will welcome honeymooners. Feel the soft delicate sand between your toes as you take a midnight stroll; relax in your bedroom to the sound of the night and the gentle whirring fan, or share together the wonderful tropical fruits.

3) Rome. Rome is romance. A city steeped in history. Enjoy trips around the historic monuments, marvel at the relaxed and crazy lifestyle and driving, and enjoy being serenaded in a romantically lit restaurant at night. Walk through this buzzing town at night and you will have to smile into the eyes of your loved one.

4) Venice Every newlywed couple has to experience the closeness of a gondola ride, taking you around one of the most different cities of the world. Free of traffic, you can walk for hours through the paved squares, accompanied by pigeons and the bird of love, the doves.

5) Vienna Dance the night away at the Vienna opera and let him whisk you off your feet to the accompaniment of the music from the pen of some of the world’s most famous composers. Take a stroll along the embankment of the Danube and dine on a wonderful river restaurant. Vienna is a city of smiles and emotion.

6) London London is possibly the most cosmopolitan city in the world. Mingle with the multi-lingual travellers, wonder at the sites and sound that surround the place where the mother of parliament was born. Spend an evening in theatre land after shopping in the world famous “Harrods” store, before retiring to a night of sheer luxury at the famous Savoy hotel.

7) Barcelona Spain’s second city is a maze of beautiful building and one of the friendliest people in the world. A horse dawn ride through the town will start your holiday off in a relaxed style. You have to visit the multinational restaurants and bars and dine on the tradition dish of paella, cooked in a variety of different ways.

8) Charlottesville, North Carolina. I have placed this town here because of its buzzing shopping centre, but most of all because it contains one of the most romantic restaurants that I have been too. The restaurant is French and, if you are a couple in love, they give you your own private room for two, with one waiter allotted to you for the whole evening. I fell in love twice in this restaurant. Once with the lady who was accompanying me and the second time with the radiant beauty of that same lady set against this romantic setting.

9) Dublin There is nowhere in the world that you will get a warmer welcome than from the Irish. They are a unique people who make it their life’s mission to make people welcome and draw them into a wonderful community. Ask an Irish person for help and you will be whisked away by them to find what you need. Of course, the whole journey will be conducted to the words of an Irish story. If they find that you are honeymooning, the ensuing celebrations will last for days. It is a good idea to get a night’s sleep before you tell them, because the Irish do not understand the concept of “last orders.”

10) Lake Geneva The hotel on the shores of lake Geneva are idyllically set, with bedrooms overlooking the lake where you can rest in a calmness and enjoy your romance. Spend one day and take a train up to the top of a mountain, where stunning views will confirm your feelings of being on top of the world. Return to the lake by cable car and join a pleasure boat to complete the triangular voyage back to the hotel. Exciting Honeymoon Ideas

June 19, 2010 by

The honeymoon, they say, is the perfect time to enjoy the company of your loved one, bask in his/her love and relive the beauty of falling in love again – before the hassles of married life starts. After the wedding preparations, this is one of the truly memorable experiences of your wedding. Now, there’s just the two of you, together, in some secluded, private place without any distractions, any interruptions – just love and love and love, and of course, more time for each other.

So, how and where do you plan to spend your honeymoon? While some can afford the luxurious hotels and resorts with all-inclusive packages, others may want to be more practical and settle for something on the average, within their means. Here are some ideas you and your partner might want to consider.

You had your first date in the beach. He proposed to you in a fancy restaurant. You’ve always wanted to go to Europe and see the Eiffel Tower, walk along the streets of London, and wine and dine at the fanciest Italian restaurants, or ride the Gondola. A honeymoon abroad is definitely something you might want to save up for. Explore the places you’ve always dreamed of seeing!

Sail away on a cruise. There’s fresh sea air, the colorful ports, the wide array of food, and a cabin that fits your needs – what more can you ask for? And at night, there’s party and revelry at the ship’s deck. And just imagine the places you’ll be able to see!

This may be your one and only chance to stay at a classy, five-star, top-of-the-line hotel. Then go for it! It always spells a bigger room, with all the amenities inside – a well-stocked mini bar, a Jacuzzi for some swimming, perfect view of the ocean from your terrace. This is luxury at its best.

You’ve always been curious about the Sin City and its attractions -the casinos, the poker games, the cabaret dancers, the clubs, and the lights. A few nights at Vegas with your loved one may loosen up some of those tired, old muscles and teach you to have more fun.

There’s something about all-inclusive honeymoon packages and couples-only resorts. It’s Privacy. If you want something wild, you might want to consider trying a nude beach where you can bare yourself and get that wonderful tan minus the bikini lines. From California to St. Martin to Cap d’Agde, there’s some grain of truth in the saying that the best things in life can be done naked. No need to splurge on honeymoon clothes!

Escape to an island – no phones, no emails, no work, no noise, no distractions, just the two of you. Nurture your body, mind and spirit and savor each other’s company.

Relive your first meeting. Instead of going away to some unknown place, you might want to stay on more familiar grounds and spend your honeymoon in the place you first met, or the place where you had your first date as a couple. Doesn’t matter if you two met at the bus station – then spend the day taking a joyride in the bus as you reminisce and look back at that first meeting.

Stay close to home. A picnic in the park, or at the garden, in the backyard of your own home may be the perfect honeymoon destination. No need to splurge on a travel abroad, fine dining, hotel accommodations and other all-inclusive romantic packages.

In the end, what matters is the company, not the grandness of the place, not the accommodations, and definitely, not the cost.

Selecting the Right Honeymoon Destinations

A honeymoon is the ideal way to start the life together and is the time for the newly weds to be alone together and just be together. Honeymoon is the time to have fun, to relax and really to enjoy each other’s company and so, the destination for the honeymoon has to be chosen by both, so that it is an enjoyable place for both of them. Therefore, the couple should sit down and decide what they would like from a honeymoon and plan the destination accordingly.

Beach is an obvious choice for most of the couples and the best value of the honeymoon can be got through a cruise. The cruise would take the couple to different destinations and can last either for a few hours or for a few weeks. The advantage of a cruise is that there is no need to pack and unpack things and the couple can stay in one room that moves to different locations. With cruises, there are many honeymoon destinations to go, including Hawaii and Tahiti.

Choosing the honeymoon destination depends upon various factors like whether the couple want to enjoy hiking and great outdoors, and if so, the time of year and weather conditions have to be taken into consideration. It should be verified whether there are hotels or resorts close by and the amenities therein. Of course, the cost also has to be considered.

Although there is a multitude of honeymoon destinations, there are places that are both very close to the place where the couple live in and far off too. In Asia, Indonesia and Bali have the most popular honeymoon destinations. There are many luxurious resorts and exotic nature and beaches that can be enjoyed immensely during a honeymoon. People, who can afford a larger budget, can pay a visit to Japan or Singapore which are shopping paradises.

In Europe, the unparallel choice of honeymoon goers is France, which is rightly known as the city of love. A trip to the top of Eiffel tower along with the partner, while watching the sunset is worth the trip. Italy is a good honeymoon destination and is preferred by many for its food alone. The Caribbean islands are known for their world’s best beaches which do have some affordable islands including Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Dominican Republic.

Couples who prefer to be a little adventurous can choose to visit Colorado which is known for winter sports and the couple can partake in skiing, ice skating and other outdoor activities. Las Vegas is famous for glamour and night life.

Honeymoon destinations are in abundance that are waiting to make the trip an enjoyable and exotic experience whose memories will be lingering in the minds of the couple for a lifetime, to  increase the bondage between them.

Paris, the capital and largest city of France, is one of the most populated areas in Europe. It is one of the world’s leading cultural and business cities. Paris is one of the global cities in the world as it has its influence on the entertainment, fashion, media, art, politics, and science. It has been given the epithet of ‘The City of lights’. There are many landmarks, monuments and parks, which had contributed in making it one of the favorites in the list of tourists’ attractions. Among the deluge of attractions in the city, Eiffel tower alone has made it a great tourists spot. Tourism in Paris had motivated government for the development of more tourists’ attractions in addition to Paris Hotels to arrange for their stay.

The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall is a magnificent steel structure; it’s visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. In the evening the illumination means it can be seen for many miles; guided tours are available where the patriotic tour guides give you an in depth history and an insight to what it is to be French.

First thing to do is book a plane and make hotel reservations. The City of Light is busy all year round with July and August being the worst time to visit because of the crowd. There are probably less Parisiens during these months as they leave the city to give way to the waves of tourists that flood Paris. When in Paris, where do you start?

Champs-Elysees The main Boulevard driving through Paris is the Champs-Elysees. This is the Creme de la Creme of Boulevards supporting some of the most elegant and beautiful buildings in the world. This street alone sends shivers through the heart and soul of the most ardent shopper in the world. All the great names are here, Chanel, Yves St Laurent, Dior, Givenchy are just a few to lick your appetite.

This city has a huge variety of places to visit, many of these have not even mentioned here; these are however, the most popular with regular tours arranged, many of which are either free or at a subsidized cost.
