Hodges Bay may be brand new, but if you are looking at great honeymoon getaways, coupled with a vacation to Antigua, check it out

It’s brand new, it intends to be one of the top honeymoon destinations in the Caribbean, never mind Antigua, and if you are just looking for a high class holiday then Hodges Bay will almost certainly become just the place for you.

Firstly Hodges Bay describes itself as Hodges Bay Club, and will consist of 90 spacious hotel suites and 24 oceanfront apartments and houses, which have been carefully designed to attract families or groups of friends travelling together.

The whole concept of Hodges Bay is one of elegance, so whatever one of the vacation packages you choose will give you simply the best vacation on Antigua. It is everything the best beachfront location on a peaceful white sand bay can give you . It is secluded, luxurious, set in eight acres of lovely tropical gardens, and possibly the ultimate private haven, with everything you could want for either the best place to honeymoon or a top Antigua vacation package.

You will find it on the north coast of Antigua, close to the historic nelson’s dockyard, only a ten minute ride from the airport, and 10 minutes from Cedar Valley championship golf course.

Top honeymoon destinations be they in Antigua or anywhere else should have a great choice of room types, and Hodges Bay Club will not disappoint in this respect.

It doesn’t matter if you are on a honeymoon getaway, or travelling as a family group, there is accommodation to suit you at Hodges Bay. You can choose from suites, houses, and penthouses, and every accommodation unit is luxuriously furnished with all mod cons for you to enjoy. All the accommodations will offer a fully equipped kitchen and either a plunge pool or a Jacuzzi.

Add to this the two freshwater swimming pools, Spa, Fitness Centre, Gymnasium, and tennis courts, all you really need to make sure that this could be the best place to honeymoon in Antigua is good restaurants.

Again you need have no fear on this score, and you can choose from three great restaurants. There is the Kohili Restaurant Lounge Bar, with fresh fish, grills, salads and vegetarian dishes overlooking the sea. The Taboo restaurant open in the evening challenges your palate with a very sophisticated menu with a real mix of spices and flavours.
The Bayhouse Restaurant & Bar offers all day dining at the Tradewinds Hotel Dickenson Bay, so you have the real chance to dine around.

There is little doubt that Hodges Bay is primed to become a top dog in the world of Antigua hotels, and not only as one of the top honeymoon spots, because the Pelicanos Kids Club will take care of the 2-11 year olds, so it is geared as a great family vacation spot as well.

It isn’t often that a hotel that is destined to be world class opens in the Caribbean, and apart from all the facilities, particular importance has been placed on the architectural design, which is impressive to say the least, from wherever you stand or sit. It may be designed for 21st century living and standards, but it stills succeeds in being essentially Caribbean in atmosphere.

Staffed by well qualified caring people, under high quality management Hodges Bay Antigua could just be the right place for one of the top honeymoon getaways you will find.

A Romantic Honeymoon Destination On Tortola BVI

Don’t book your honeymoon before you check out the Sugar Mill Hotel on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands

Your top romantic honeymoon destination hotel could well be a small romantic British Virgin Island hotel, slightly off the beaten path, but rated number one in Tortola in the BVI. This is the best description for Sugar Mill, and it probably isn’t the place for everyone. That isn’t because of any peculiarities but rather because Sugar Mill would make an ideal romantic honeymoon destination as a small beachfront boutique hotel, in fact an all suite hotel as it has only a total of 23 rooms. It is a place to relax and unwind which makes it ideal as a honeymoon destination, and it is built around the restored ruins of a three hundred year old sugar mill and rum distillery. In other words it is probably not the best place to go for a vibrant all action family BVI vacation!!

Conde Naste magazine has thought well enough of Sugar Mill to place it in the top ten hotels in the Caribbean two years in a row, and although this was four or five years ago you will easily see why.

The white sand beach sits right next to the beautiful tropical gardens where the cluster of individual buildings are situated, and Sugar Mill lies near the western tip of Tortola, so will get great romantic sunsets.

If Sugar Mill is to be your romantic honeymoon destination then take the honeymoon package, and stay in one of the Pool Suites. They are elevated overlooking the round swimming pool in the middle of the grounds, and you will have a sitting room, a large balcony, a kitchenette, and a great outdoor shower. The addition of ceiling fans as well as airconditioning gives you cooling options as well as a real old fashioned colonial feel. The suite also has cable TV and a great selection of books, and not only the sunsets from the balcony but the views of Jost Van Dyke Island across the channel are worth sitting out for.

The Restaurant at the Sugar Mill Hotel, which is part of the original sugar mill, has a great reputation not only on Tortola but all over the Caribbean for its award winning cuisine, and on the beach which has an offshore reef which is good for snorkelling, there is a beach bar called Islands which serves lunch and drinks.

You will find not only the food at The Sugar Mill Great, but also the atmosphere, and a menu that changes every night, with a good selection of dishes, and a good wine list. The breakfasts are also outstanding, sitting in the morning overlooking the beach, with a cooling breeze is just so relaxing.

Another outstanding feature of the Sugar Mill are the hotel staff who without exception are extremely helpful, friendly, and just seem to want to make your stay as fantastic as it can possibly be. The standard of housekeeping is excellent, as you might expect from a boutique hotel that has quality and professionalism written all over it. In fact a better description of Sugar Mill could well be a good old fashioned Caribbean Inn because the whole ambience is so far removed from the modern big resort, without being anything other than very comfortable and luxurious compared to many other properties around the BVI.
