Paris, the capital and largest city of France, is one of the most populated areas in Europe. It is one of the world’s leading cultural and business cities. Paris is one of the global cities in the world as it has its influence on the entertainment, fashion, media, art, politics, and science. It has been given the epithet of ‘The City of lights’. There are many landmarks, monuments and parks, which had contributed in making it one of the favorites in the list of tourists’ attractions. Among the deluge of attractions in the city, Eiffel tower alone has made it a great tourists spot. Tourism in Paris had motivated government for the development of more tourists’ attractions in addition to Paris Hotels to arrange for their stay.
The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall is a magnificent steel structure; it’s visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. In the evening the illumination means it can be seen for many miles; guided tours are available where the patriotic tour guides give you an in depth history and an insight to what it is to be French.
First thing to do is book a plane and make hotel reservations. The City of Light is busy all year round with July and August being the worst time to visit because of the crowd. There are probably less Parisiens during these months as they leave the city to give way to the waves of tourists that flood Paris. When in Paris, where do you start?
Champs-Elysees The main Boulevard driving through Paris is the Champs-Elysees. This is the Creme de la Creme of Boulevards supporting some of the most elegant and beautiful buildings in the world. This street alone sends shivers through the heart and soul of the most ardent shopper in the world. All the great names are here, Chanel, Yves St Laurent, Dior, Givenchy are just a few to lick your appetite.
This city has a huge variety of places to visit, many of these have not even mentioned here; these are however, the most popular with regular tours arranged, many of which are either free or at a subsidized cost.
